Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files that a website can ask a browser to store. Browsers can also provide related storage mechanisms such as localStorage. These technologies can remember settings, support security, preserve a session or record whether a particular preference has already been selected.

The current website uses localStorage for the cookie-preference choice. It does not intentionally load a separate analytics or advertising platform. The presence of a preference interface therefore should not be read as evidence that advertising networks or behavioural analytics are active.

2. Necessary storage

Necessary storage refers to data that supports core technical operation. A website may need ordinary server processes, security controls or short-lived technical state to deliver pages and forms. The public informational pages do not require a shopping cart, payment session, user account or checkout state because those functions are not part of this project.

Users can configure browsers to block or clear storage, although very strict settings can affect website behaviour. The website should remain readable even when optional preferences are not granted.

3. Preference storage

When a visitor chooses Accept All, Partial or Functional in the preference banner, the selected state is written to localStorage under a preference key. This allows the banner to remain dismissed on later page views using the same browser. The selection can be changed by clearing site storage or using the cookie-preferences control in the footer.

The Partial option records a middle preference state intended to permit functional settings without enabling analytics or advertising categories. The Functional option records a narrower functional preference. Accept All records a broader consent state. In the current project these states do not activate hidden analytics because no analytics implementation is present.

4. Analytics cookies

No analytics platform is intentionally included in the delivered project. There is no Google Analytics tag, Meta Pixel, advertising network script or equivalent measurement service in the website code. If analytics is introduced later, the cookie interface, privacy information and this policy must be revised to identify the provider, purpose, cookie names where relevant, retention and the method for refusing optional tracking.

Server logs operated by the hosting provider are technically different from browser analytics cookies. Such logs may record requests for security and troubleshooting even where no analytics cookie is used.

5. Third-party resources

The site loads Google Fonts. Requests to font infrastructure can involve network information such as IP address and browser headers. Those requests are controlled by the external provider rather than by a local cookie created by this site. The website does not intentionally embed social-media feeds, video players, ad networks or payment widgets.

External article links, if followed, may open websites that use their own cookies or storage. Their controls and policies apply independently after the visitor leaves steadyform.info.

6. Managing preferences

The preference banner appears until a choice has been stored. Selecting any of its three buttons dismisses the banner and records the state. The footer includes a Cookie preferences control that opens a short explanation of the Partial state. Users can also remove stored site data through browser settings.

Browser interfaces vary. Common options include deleting data for one website, blocking third-party cookies, clearing all cookies on exit or refusing storage entirely. These settings are controlled by the browser vendor and can change over time.

7. Retention

The local preference value has no fixed server-side expiry because it is kept in browser localStorage. It remains until the user clears storage, a browser policy removes it, or website code replaces it with a new preference. No contact-form message is stored in localStorage by this project.

Any future cookie with a defined expiry should be documented here together with its purpose and duration. Optional storage should not be retained longer than needed for the function it performs.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when storage technology changes, when a new provider is introduced or when legal requirements require different disclosures. A material new optional tracking service should not be silently added without updating the relevant controls and documentation.

The current policy remains linked from every page footer so visitors can review how preferences are handled.

This document focuses on browser storage and preference controls. Neither document adds commercial functions that are not actually present on the site.
